What is the main (at a high-level) scientific principle behind BarrierTek?

BarrierTek interrupts pyrolysis, reducing heat and oxygen that gets into the wood. At 200º degrees Celsius, the BarrierTek coating is activated by the heat energy, causing a chemical reaction.
